Forty minutes east of Athens, the Attica light does something different. Porto Rafti opens onto a sheltered bay of extraordinary clarity — the kind of blue that stops you mid-sentence. Step onto the terrace and the view holds you there longer than you planned.
The food here is the real thing. A five-minute stroll along the promenade takes you past beach clubs and into an enchanting little harbour — lined with seafood tavernas that serve whatever came in that morning. The calamari, the grilled fish, the local wine, the salt in the air.
This is not a resort and it is not a destination. It is simply a place where people live well — calmly, fully, without performance.

The Residence
One hundred and twenty quiet metres.
Three bedrooms, an open-plan living and kitchen space, and a terrace that runs the length of the home. The interior stays deliberately calm — warm woods, linen, soft light — so the bay does the talking.
The building sits on a residential street one block above the waterfront. There is a lift, so nothing has to be carried up the stairs, and a cot for the smallest guests.

Status Cafe
One block over. The local standard for a morning freddo espresso, a proper breakfast, or an evening drink by the bay.
Nakal State of Mind
On Avlakiou Avenue — an all-day beach club with an exotic, minimalist aesthetic, a pool, good music and a stretch of beach. Reservations arranged on request.
Fyki Fyki
On the waterfront promenade, and the one not to miss. Vibrant, warm, family-run: seafood, meze and traditional dishes. Order the homemade zucchini fritters and the fresh crab noodles.

Two further waterfront rooms a short walk along the front, for the nights you want something different from the fish taverna.
Day Cruises & Sea Caves
East Attica Cruises sail from the port on the traditional Resalto — four to five hours around the sunken sea cave and the uninhabited islets, with swimming stops and refreshments. Ploimos run private RIB charters with a licensed captain from the marina.
Fishing Trips
A local fisherman takes you out into the bay to fish, swim in turquoise water, and cook the day's catch on board. The most down-to-earth day you can have here.

Porto Rafti is one of Attica's best-kept secrets — forty minutes from the city centre, twenty from the airport, and entirely removed from the tourist circuits that crowd the islands in summer.
You can walk to the beach and the tavernas in two minutes. For the wider region — the Marathon plain, the ancient sites, the large supermarkets on Porto Rafti Avenue — a rental car is worth having.

When is Aurora Athena available?
Nightly availability is limited through summer 2026 and released selectively. From November through May the residence is offered for monthly and seasonal stays.
What does a monthly or seasonal stay cost?
Monthly and seasonal stays from November to May are €1,650 per month. Nightly rates for the remaining summer dates are confirmed at enquiry.
How do I reserve?
Send an enquiry with your dates. Once they are confirmed, a 50% deposit reserves the residence, with the balance settled before arrival.
How far is the airport, and Athens itself?
Athens International Airport is roughly 20 minutes by car and the city centre around 40 minutes, traffic depending. Private transfers and chauffeur days can be arranged before you arrive.
Can I walk to the water and the tavernas?
Yes. Porto Rafti Bay is about three minutes on foot and the seafood promenade and harbour about five. The building sits one block up from the waterfront on a quiet residential street.
How large is the residence, and how does it sleep?
120 m² with three bedrooms, an open-plan living, dining and kitchen space, and a 70 m² terrace facing the bay.
Is there a lift?
Yes — an internal lift serves the apartment, so luggage never has to go up the stairs. Please close the internal lift gate fully on exit so the lift can be called to other floors.
Where do I park?
Free street parking is available directly outside the building. The street is quiet and finding a space is rarely an issue.
Do I need a car?
Not for the beach, the promenade or the tavernas — all are a short walk. A rental car is worth having if you plan to explore the wider region or reach the larger supermarkets on Porto Rafti Avenue.
Are you able to accommodate an infant?
Yes. A children's cot is available and can be made up before you arrive — just mention it in your enquiry.
Is the tap water drinkable?
The tap water is fine for showering and washing up. For drinking, bottled water is the local norm and what we recommend.
Anything to know about the plumbing?
Greek pipes are narrow. Paper and sanitary products go in the bins beside the toilet rather than down it — the one house rule that genuinely matters.
Are there quiet hours?
The neighbourhood observes the traditional afternoon rest from 3:00 to 5:30 pm, and quiet again after 11:00 pm.
Can you arrange boats, transfers and reservations?
Yes. Day cruises to the sea caves and islets, private RIB charters, local fishing trips, beach club reservations, airport transfers and private drivers are all arranged on request. See the page.
